SUPPORT
As of version 2.0.0 onwards I’m going to try and set up a knowledge base of information.
It’s available at http://support.tgardner.net
LOCALIZATION
A Launchpad translation project has been setup: Click here to view a list of all currently available translations. Very briefly, Launchpad will enable a community of translators to help translate the plugin into whatever language is needed.
How to translate with Launchpad
- Setup a Launchpad.net account.
- Select your preferred languages. This will be the language you want to translate.
- You should see your language show up in this list. Simply click the name to get started with the translations. The system will try to offer suggests where available (retrieved from other open source projects).
- Your translations are saved as you proceed. When it comes time to package a release, your translation will be automatically included in the release for everyone to use. Thanks for your help!

This is a fabulous plugin!
I would like descriptions to show as well. I’m using the latest versions of all software involved, I see the description in the media panel but I am just missing how to get it to show up on the page or in Lightbox.
I have the same issue with the sets pulling in the entire amount regardless of the set cap.
Hi,
the plugin doesn’t insert anything in the latest version of WP 2.8 bleeding edge, it doesn’t find photosets ( 2.2 does), and it doesn’t close on insert if the check box is checked.
Firebug gives me this when I click on an image – maybe it’s helpful to you.
[Exception... "'Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [@name='photo_id']‘ when calling method: [nsIDOMEventListener::handleEvent]” nsresult: “0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)” location: “” data: no]
(?)()media-up…452947571 (Linie 38)
[Break on this error] try{convertEntities(swfuploadL10n);}catch(e){};
Oh, just loading the main page with the plugin activated gives a similar error in 2.8 bleeding edge.
[Exception... "'Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [@rel*=flickr-mgr]‘ when calling method: [nsIDOMEventListener::handleEvent]” nsresult: “0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)” location: “” data: no]
Hi, I would like to adjust the size of the images, when using a viewer. Now, I can choose between small, medium and large (using the viewer). But for me the ‘medium’ is to small and the ‘large’ is too large. How can I adjust the image size, when using the viewer?
Thanks, Tom
hey excellent plugin – not sure where my previous comment went – when i use any of the image viewers to display a photoset in the page it opens to say that the image doesnt exist…if I dont use the imageviewers it opens the image in flickr fine, but doesnt open in a new window as specified in the settings…can you please help?
Another boo boo..upgraded wordpress to 2.8 rc1, lightbox or highslide no longer work. When you click on the image, it takes you to the flickr page…any ideas?
Actually, not much of anything with the plugin is working in wp2.8….hope we get a fix soon..
change
[@rel*=flickr-mgr]
for
[rel*=flickr-mgr]
I would love a fix too. This is by far the best flickr plugin out there and it isn’t working. What will I do?
2.8 support in the near future?
Thanks!
Hey Trent,
Great plugin, but I finally updated to the newest version of WP after being prompted to and now the lightbox feature doesn’t work!I saw someone else had the same problem, but I didn’t see the solution.
I want the photos to be viewed through my site, not flickr.
Also, even when it was working before the upgrade, I couldn’t get them to be seen in large, but only medium.
Thanks
Anya
I tried registering the plugin with flickr and got this message…
–
Oops! The API key or signature is invalid.
An external application has requested your login credentials and permission to perform certain actions on your behalf, but has failed to include all the required data.
You don’t really need to know what this means, except that you can’t use the application until this problem is fixed. (It’s a third-party problem, not a Flickr problem.)

An incredibly awesome plugin, which I am having a hard time living without after the upgrade to WP2.8.
If you make it work, I’ll donate $10
Okay, I have fixed this plugin for wordpress 2.8.
I read up on JQuery selectors and I have read that the @ portion of the attribute selectors is now deprecated. With the WordPress update they must have updated the JQuery version.
see http://docs.jquery.com/Selectors
The manual fix is to look through your .php files in the JS directory and do a search/replace of [@ for just [ (there’s about 10 cases)
Or download this fixed version from me (this is based on version 2.3 of the plugin)

Enjoy!
Hey guys. While we wait on Trent, I’ve managed to get a working version up for WP 2.8. I’ve put it out on my site for download http://seoishard.com/seo-tool/flickr+manager+2.8. Trent, feel free to have at it to see the fixes.
Looks like somebody has patched it to work with WP 2.8. Maybe you can just integrate the fix from them?

Make sure you grab fwaggle’s update off this page – the one ogre links to contains hidden SEO code that will link to his server without your knowledge.
Hello, help please:
Warning: curl_exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/garna/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-flickr-manager/FlickrCore.php on line 70
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/garna/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-flickr-manager/FlickrManager.php on line 838
i had an error in the frontend:
uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [@rel*=flickr-mgr]
i use jquery-1.3.2.min.js
i fixed it by replacing: ‘a[@rel*=flickr-mgr]‘ with: “a[rel*='flickr-mgr']” in the “wfm-lightbox.php” file.
thx for the great plugin !
Is there a documentation somewhere with the code the plugin is producing?
It would provide a quicker overview what can be done with the plugin instead of trying it out via the UI.
thanks
Is there any way to make the photoset links lauch to a blank window and not in the same window? Thanks!
Congrats for the great Plugin… its awesome. Works fine after fwaggles update.
One question?
When opening the lightbox inside the post it only opens the image inside that post and not all the images inside the same gallery.
Any solution to this little problem?
Thanks in advance
Hi there. I am running WP 2.8.6 and I have the latest version of your plugin. I am able to pull up the plugin window from a blog entry but it will not allow me to actually insert a photoset into the entry. . When I click on “insert into post”, nothing happens. Any idea what may be wrong?

For compability with WP 2.9.3 just find and delete all ‘@’ in the sourcecode of media-panel.php and in wmf-lightbox.php – Done!
any chance to integrate the new post thumbnails option in wp 2.9
this would be a huge update
Hi,
WFM doesn’t work out of the box with WP 2.9, but making the changes described here (removing @ from the jquery calls) fixes it ->
http://www.workflowfaq.com/wordpress-flickr-manager-changes-for-2-9
Perhaps you can release an update, Trent?
Thanks,
Mark
yeah, thanks Mark, that fix worked for me, made the lightbox and highslide work for me.
I got it to work under wordpress 2.9.2!
I did what Mark Harris pointed in his comment, and i got the “Oops! The API key or signature is invalid.” message.
I solve this by editing my php.ini file, like this:
replaced the variable arg_separator.output from “&” to “&”.

I have used this on my blog for quite some time- and it would let you click a photo, and pop up a new window with that photo and let you scroll through the photos in the set that way. This is the only plug-in I have found that had such a beautiful presentation w/out making a big deal about the photos being held at flickr. I’m using it on a new wordpress website (made the changes that Mark Harris mentioned above) but the slide show function seems to be broken now. suggestions anyone?
Please offer curl proxy settings in config. Some servers cannot do direct http calls and need a proxy. Fixing this will allow more servers to use this plugin.
I uploaded this plug-in and it seems to be working well. My only issue is that when I insert a photo it is always left justified, no matter which setting I choose. I want my photos to be centered. Any ideas how I can fix that?
Awesome plugin. Unfortunately, it causes my theme’s homepage slideshow to become a static stack of images instead of a slideshow. I’m using Modularity Lite: http://graphpaperpress.com/2008/10/06/modularity-lite-theme-framework-for-wordpress/
I can’t insert photos in my blogposts. When I click on a thumbnail picture in the flickr-manager, which pops up after clicking on the two circles in the “Add media”-bar i get a form, with a “insert into post”-button. but clicking it I have to wait a while and then nothing happens.
hello trent,
i just updated to the latest version downloaded from this page. i have a question re: lightbox:
if i select lightbox in the settings, should the flickr photo open in lightbox when viewing , or is lightbox only used when inserting iages using the *’Flickr Manager’* panel ?
i’m asking because i can’t see lightbox come up on my site, but lightbox also doesn’t come up on any of your 5 example photos (above)
i guess it could be my browser (chrome), wordpress (3.0) but i have seen lightbox work before, just not with this plugin.
can you see lightbox come up on your 5 example photos above ?
thanks,
tom
I am very happy with this plugin. Working beautifully. Can anyone tell me what the php function call is to manually insert the flickr rss badge into sidebar.php without using the widget?
Warning: strpos() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/users/armelftp/armelo.nl/wp-admin/includes/media.php on line 309
This error shows up in the panel under PHP 5.3
(no problems under PHP 5.2)
The insert of FlickrManager
conflicts with some code of the F8-lite theme. I presume it is the combination with the JQuery function that produces a slide show in de
jQuery(function() {
jQuery(“#slideshow”).cycle({
speed: 2000,
timeout: 50,
pause: 1
});
});
Hello…
i started using wordpress 3.01 and flickr manager plugin 2.3. But it doesn t work. Clicking the flickr symbol open a new window but input into content doesn t work.
Any idea?
Set to 5 pics per page, but shows all images from the set.
This is the shortcode I used:
[flickrset id="{my set's id}" thumbnail="small" overlay="true" size="original"]
+1 not working for me in WP3.0.1.
It finds the photosets, but when I click Insert into Post, it does nothing.
As said, this is the best flickr plugin I’ve found, would be good to see a fix.

I just updated my WordPress and then updated and reactivated all of my plugins and now my Flickr manager doesn’t work at all. It used to pull up my whole private album, now it only pulls up public sets. And even then when I click Insert into Post it does nothing. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it several times.
Howdy! I updated the Spanish translation (40 strings changed, ortography issues and other corrections). Can you package it?
Greetings!
G’day,
I’ve installed the plugin and when I go to insert a photo/photoset into a post it refreshes the page showing the photo information but will not insert the picture.
I’ve tried clicking the close on insert button so it’s on and off but it does not seem to make a difference. Any advice on this?

It’s not working with WordPress 3.1.1.
Any suggestion???
Hi Trent,
welcome back
I tried WFM on a WP 3.1.2 and can say that the new upload system it’s really awesome, thanks a lot.
However there are some bugs with other functions that I will show in support forum as soon as bugzilla send me confirmation email.
Wordpress Flicker Manager could be a wonderful addition for WP, still no other plugins do what it does.
Hey Mac,
Please let me know what you find, and I’ll probably put out a service release shortly. The plugin has been rebuilt from the ground up, so there’s bound to be a few kinks at first.
Thanks
Hi Trent,
I just added two issues on bugzilla.
Screenshoots that you posted seems awesome
Thanks for support and your work.
